(Bring Your Own Horse)

For those who own their own horses and would like to ride our trails, come on out! Our trails have all been recently updated and although they are only a couple miles long, what they lack in length they make up for in creativity. The trails contain nearly 20 natural and artificial obstacles including water crossing, bridges, natural jumps, a maze, walk throughs, walkover logs, and more! A great place to practice for the trail horse challenges!

Trailer in Fees:

Daily: $30 per trailer

Monthly: $75

Yearly Membership: $600

Lessons on trail obstacles available for $35 per hour

Mountain Trail Rides

Want to take a longer ride? For more experienced riders, we can trailer the horses up to Moses Cone Manor for a 2-4 hour long trail through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Riders must be able to mount and dismount without a mounting block or from a small step and must have past experience riding horses (within 5 years). Call to schedule your ride. $75 per person

Guided Trail Rides

Trails are closed for winter except to experienced riders, all other lessons, parties, and other services are still available.

Take a ride on our trails atop seasoned trail and competition horses. For $45 per person you get your very own seasoned trail horse and a tour of our horse trails. Trail rides typically last 30 to 40 minutes (ride time) but plan to stay for an hour to go over safety rules and get mounted up. Longer rides are available for $10 more per person. The trails are pretty easy but do cover rolling hills and some wooded areas. We stay at a walk and just enjoy the scenery. There are more difficult trails available for seasoned riders. We use only the safest and most sound horses. Helmets are required and provided by MHF. Please also wear long pants and closed toed shoes or boots. Two to three riders can go at a time, larger groups will be split. For split groups, feel free to enjoy our picnic area at the pond or visit with the animals while you wait.

You do not have to have any previous riding experience and trail riders can be as young as 10 years old (if you have younger children, please see our farm tours page.) *** We can only take one child between the ages of 10-15 at a time for safety reasons.*** Children cannot ride double, they will have their own horse and be ponied or led by the guide. This is the safest way for them to enjoy their ride. There is a 230 lb. weight limit for riders, no exceptions.

Please call or fill out the following form to make reservations, keep in mind that our weekends can get totally booked so call or email with at least a weeks notice if possible.
